The 12-inch brush roller (Part #841817) is a replacement agitator for the ProTeam ProGen 12 upright, also cataloged for the ProTeam 3405. Its bristles rotate against the carpet to loosen embedded dirt and lift it into the airflow.
As a brush roll ages, the bristles fray and shorten, so they no longer reach the carpet fibers and cleaning falls off. Replacing the roller when the bristles look uneven or worn to the base restores full agitation and pickup.
