This replacement Panasonic bottom plate, marked brush "a", fits the MC-V7407. The plate closes the underside of the nozzle around the brush roll, forming the sealed suction chamber that concentrates airflow at the floor.
A bottom plate that has cracked or warped breaks that seal, so air enters around the gap instead of through the nozzle and suction at the floor drops off sharply. Installing a fresh plate restores the sealed chamber and returns the vacuum to effective pickup on carpet and bare floors.
