Part 40-1602-62 is the black dusting brush for Hoover canister vacuums that use a pin-type tool fitting. It is the small round brush you press onto the wand or hose end for the jobs a bare nozzle would scratch or scatter: blinds, shelf edges, baseboards, lampshades and the tops of door frames.
Dusting brushes lead a rough life in the tool caddy. Bristles splay and lose their spring, the collar cracks from being twisted off the wand, and eventually the brush either will not stay on or pushes dust around instead of lifting it into the airflow. This one mounts with a locating pin, which is what keeps it from wobbling loose mid-job - check that your Hoover tools use the pin fitting rather than a plain friction slide before ordering.
