This is the post-motor allergen filter for the Bissell PowerGlide 2763, part 1601974. It sits after the motor and catches the fine dust the earlier stages let through, which makes it the last thing between the machine and the air in the room.
A loaded one is easy to recognize. Exhaust air starts to smell stale or dusty, the machine feels like it is working harder for less, and anyone sensitive to dust notices the room after vacuuming rather more than they used to. Filters clog gradually, which is why the change is nearly always overdue.
It fits the PowerGlide 2763 series, including the 27631, 27632, 27633, 27638 and 2763T, and the 9182W. Change it on a schedule rather than by eye, because a filter can be well past its useful life while still looking respectable.
