This replacement belt and idler pulley assembly fits Sharp uprights EC3620 and EC3720, also referenced to model 7831 and part #F691*. The idler pulley maintains tension on the drive belt so power transfers cleanly to the brush roll.
A worn idler pulley or a stretched belt lets the belt slip, which slows the brush roll and can leave carpet under-agitated. Noise or a slipping roll point to a tired assembly. A fresh set restores steady tension and full brush speed.
