This armature kit for the Rainbow E2 two-speed canister vacuum is a replacement armature sub-assembly supplied with a clamped upper bearing. The armature is the rotating heart of the motor, and this kit is the correct version for E2 machines built with the clamped bearing design.
A failing armature announces itself clearly. Loss of suction, a burning smell, excessive sparking at the brushes, or a motor that will not start at all are the classic symptoms. Any of these on a Rainbow E2 justifies inspecting the motor before further damage spreads.
Be aware that armature replacement is an advanced repair. It requires disassembling the motor, and correct alignment and balance on reassembly determine whether the rebuilt motor runs smoothly. Professional installation is recommended. The kit is compatible with the Rainbow Rexair E2 two-speed canister.
