Sanitaire Air Input Filter ...

Product details

Part G2990040002 is the air input filter for the Sanitaire SC3700 canister, the bagged commercial machine Sanitaire sells as the EXTEND. It is one of three filter stages on that canister, alongside a secondary filter and an exhaust filter, and each carries its own part number.

An input filter loads slowly next to the disposable bag it works with, which is exactly why it gets overlooked on a machine in daily service. Suction drops even with a fresh bag fitted, the motor sounds like it is working harder for the same result, and the media has gone from pale to a matted pad that no longer shakes clean. Rinsing a filter that far along rarely brings it back, because the fine material has worked into the weave rather than sitting on top of it.

Squeeze the old one before deciding it still has life in it. Media that springs back has service left; media that stays compressed is finished, whatever color it looks from across the room.

Fit the new filter with the machine open and the old one out, checking that it sits flush in its frame with no gap at the edges before closing up. A filter sitting crooked in its housing lets air find the corner instead of the media, and the canister keeps losing suction with a brand new filter installed.

  • Part: G2990040002, air input filter
  • Fits: Sanitaire SC3700 and SC3700A EXTEND commercial canister
  • Symptom: suction loss with a fresh bag fitted, matted or compressed media
  • Note: the secondary and exhaust filters for this canister are separate parts
