Hoover Agitator / Brush Roll Belt Guard with Bristles

This replacement agitator brush roll (Part #302613001) is fitted with bristles and a belt guard for upright vacuums. As it spins, the bristles agitate carpet fibers to loosen embedded dirt and debris so the airflow can carry it away.

Bristles fray and flatten with use, hair wraps the shaft, and bearings can grow noisy, all of which leave carpet only lightly cleaned. Inspect the roll for frayed bristles, tangled wraps, and bearing noise, and replace it once it can no longer reach into the pile.
