Light green switch plate for the Hoover 3105, part 37258069. It is the moulded cover over the power switch: the surface you actually press, and the barrier between the switch contacts and everything else the vacuum runs through.
These break at the pivot or crack across the face, usually after years of being stepped on. Once the plate is broken the switch underneath is open to dust and debris, and the action turns vague. You press and nothing happens, or the machine cuts out when the handle is knocked. Neither is worth living with on a mains-powered appliance.
Colour matters here as well as fit, since this is the light green version and a 3105 that has been through a previous repair may not match. Unplug the machine before removing the old plate, and check the switch body itself for dust ingress while it is exposed.
