Eureka Commercial Power Cord - SC5815A / SC5845B

Part 3868032 is the replacement power cord shared by a small family of Eureka and Sanitaire commercial uprights. The Sanitaire SC5815A and SC5845B use it, and so do the Eureka SC5713B, the Eureka/Sanitaire C5712A and C5712A1, and the Sanitaire SC5745B, all of which terminate the same way inside the housing.

A commercial power cord rarely dies of old age; it dies of handling. Wheels roll over it a dozen times a shift, it gets tugged by the jacket instead of gripped by the plug when someone is in a rush to disconnect it, and the same few feet near each end take that abuse over and over. Watch for a section of jacket gone stiff or split, a plug that feels warm after use, or the machine losing power the moment the cord gets nudged near the outlet end. All three point to damaged conductors well before any fraying is visible to the eye.

Once copper is visible anywhere along the length, the cord is no longer a repair candidate. Equipment with exposed conductors does not pass a commercial safety inspection, and running it that way is a real shock hazard to whoever plugs it in next. Cut power at the wall before starting the swap, and leave the actual wiring at the machine end to someone comfortable working around mains voltage.

Because one cord assembly serves several model numbers here, confirm the designation on your machine's data plate against the models listed below before ordering, rather than assuming a cord that looks the same from a photo will terminate the same way inside the housing.
